NAC, Inc. Becomes National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2017 Champion

Duncansville, PA October 3, 2017 — NAC, Inc. today announced that it has become a Champion of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2017. The international leader in direct mail marketing will be joining a growing global effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals to promote online safety awareness.

Recognized every October, NCSAM was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure all digital citizens have the resources needed to stay safer and more secure online while also protecting their personal information. Duncansville, PA August 31, 2017 – NAC, Inc., an international leader in direct mail marketing and fulfillment solutions, today announced its successful completion of the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2® Type II engagement with the receipt of its Independent Auditor’s Report attesting to the company’s internal controls surrounding data security.

Based upon the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Trust Services Principles and Criteria, the SOC 2® Type II audit is recognized as the authoritative standard by which an organization’s controls can be evaluated for both design and operational effectiveness. The process involved a comprehensive and rigorous examination of NAC’s practices, policies, procedures and tests of the controls related to each of the five trust principles: Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy, culminating in the formal report prepared by the independent auditing firm I.S. Partners, LLC.

NAC Receives Honorable Mention

Duncansville, PA November 8, 2016 – NAC, Inc. announced today that it has earned an Honorable Mention in Ragan’s PR Daily 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards. The company was recognized for its efforts in Organizational Transparency.

Entries were submitted globally by in-house, agency and independent communication practitioners in the private, corporate, non-profit and government sectors.  Judges from the editorial staff of Ragan.com, PR Daily.com, HR Communicator and Health Care Communications examined entries from 18 categories including newly added, organizational transparency.

The new category focused on what companies have done to better educate the world about their products, services and business practices. Understanding the effect of transparency between their company, associates, customers and stakeholders, NAC formalized a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in 2007. This was quickly followed with the company signing the United Nations Global Compact and becoming chain-of-custody certified through the Forest Stewardship Council® and Sustainable Forest Initiative®.

NAC to be Honored by Blair County Chamber of Commerce

The twelve month project was deployed in two phases with a goal to double the productivity of the machine while decreasing cost and increasing throughput. Now being dubbed “The Frankenstein”, the technology is a complete hybrid of internal ideas, resources and parts engineered into one machine.

NAC Vice President Recognized for “Making a Difference”

 Duncansville, PA October 18, 2016 – NAC, Inc. is honored to announce that Vice President Tera Herman was among 36 women who have been nominated in the sixth annual “Women Making a Difference” edition of the Pennsylvania Business Central.

The competition recognizes business women who have continued to push themselves and grow their companies and communities forward. Nominations came from a 23-county readership area and represent an array of industries and companies. Final selection was done by the St. Francis University Business Development Center. This year’s list features businesswomen in a variety of fields, from healthcare to banking to community fundraising.

Joining NAC in 1989, Herman is now the Vice President of Human Resources and Global Social Responsibility. Under her direction NAC became a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary program focusing on the 10 principles of human rights. Tera is well known for her involvement within the communities in which she works and countries around the world. She has served on the executive board of the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation, Blair County Respiratory Disease Society and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.

In addition, she continues to serve as an advisory board member for BeadforLife, a non-profit working with impoverished women of Uganda, Africa. Tera has also acted as a board member for Panzi Foundation USA, a non-profit formed to raise awareness about the challenges in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and support Panzi Hospital efforts to help treat survivors of sexual violence.

They received both a Gold award and an Honorable mention for their 2014 outdoor advertising campaigns. NAC’s winning campaigns focused on recruitment and honoring the company’s 35th year anniversary.

With over 6,000 entries to judge, industry professionals look for companies whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as an industry benchmark.
